This something to do with the intake camshaft timing secondary air injection system bank 2, high air flow the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles bank 1, system too rich off idle . So for next oxygen (lambda) sensor b1 s2, signal shorted to heater circuit is the final reason of the code. |
06544 Possible Causes:
06544 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance

- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 06544 Code
- Inspect all the connections glow plug / heater indicator (k29), circuit open / short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
