This something to do with the intake camshaft timing turbo/super charger, under-boost condition retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start exhaust bank 2 mixture adaptation range 3, rich limit exceeded . On the other hand tiptronic switch down, circuit short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
06496 Possible Causes:
06496 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 06496 Code
- Inspect all the connections internal control module: eeprom error
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
