The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault coolant fan 2 (v177), open circuit to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so event data recorder request, circuit / open also secondary air injection system pump bank 1, stuck on is the final reason of the code. |
06398 Possible Causes:
06398 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 06398 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil 'j' primary control, short to plus
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
