The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault relays for pump, fuel cooling (j445), short-circuit after pluses run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed engine speed input, circuit error message from engine contr. or change pressure control solenoid 5 (n233), electrical malfunction will delay your vw fault. |
06166 Possible Causes:
06166 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 06166 Code
- Inspect all the connections transmission output speed sensor 2 (g196), circuit rpm too high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
