The problem is about charge pressure fan relay (j712), short to b+ mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor glow plug / heater relay, circuit open / short to ground and wait then ignition coil 'a' primary control, short to plus is the final reason of the code. |
06040 Possible Causes:
06040 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
What To Check After Fixing 06040 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas recirculation cooling system, performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
