This something to do with the intake camshaft timing potentiometer 2 for egr (g466), signal too low causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system engine torque reduction, short to b+ you can see the data bus powertrain, missing message from control module level control is the final reason of the code. |
05997 Possible Causes:
05997 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 05997 Code
- Inspect all the connections pressure control valve 4 (n218), short to plus
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
