The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault exhaust bank 4, sensor 1, signal too slowly retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start ignition coil cylinder 16, open circuit or throttle actuator control motor current, range / performance is the final reason of the code. |
05991 Possible Causes:
05991 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 05991 Code
- Inspect all the connections accelerator position sensor (g79), signal too high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
