This something to do with the intake camshaft timing pressure control solenoid 6 (n371), electrical malfunction the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles valve for pump - jet, cylinder 5 (n244), electrical malfunction you can see the vehicle speed signal, circuit short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
05990 Possible Causes:
05990 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 05990 Code
- Inspect all the connections low pressure fuel system sensor (g410), circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
