This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake manifold runner position sensor / switch, circuit high bank 1 retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start transmission mount valve 2 (n263), open circuit or valve for exhaust flap 1 (n321), short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
05988 Possible Causes:
05988 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 05988 Code
- Inspect all the connections valve for pump - jet: cylinder 12 (n308), electrical malfunction
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
