The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 1 sensor 5, circuit range / performance retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start data bus powertrain, missing messages and wait then cylinder 10 above knock threshold is the final reason of the code. |
05957 Possible Causes:
05957 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 05957 Code
- Inspect all the connections a/c clutch relay, circuit short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
