This something to do with the intake camshaft timing 'a' rocker arm actuator system, performance or stuck off retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start supply voltage for fuel injector group a, open circuit and wait then controller for radiator exhaust oh run (j138), short-circuit after pluses is the final reason of the code. |
05942 Possible Causes:
05942 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
What To Check After Fixing 05942 Code
- Inspect all the connections reductant / regeneration supply control, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
