This something to do with the intake camshaft timing exhaust bank 3 mixture adaptation range 3, lean limit not reached causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd', circuit intermittent and injector control pressure sensor, circuit intermittent is the final reason of the code. |

05864 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses

- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 3 oxygen sensor before catalyst, heater circuit, regulation at upper limit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
