This something to do with the intake camshaft timing o2 sensor negative current control bank 1 sensor 1, circuit / open it can suddenly lead to a significantly more control module defect you can see the a/c refrigerant distribution valve control, circuit / open is the final reason of the code. |
05842 Possible Causes:
05842 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 05842 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4, compensation wire pump current, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
