When you open power supply (b+) terminal 15, implausible retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 2, biased / stuck lean and supply voltage for fuel injector group a, short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
05840 Possible Causes:
05840 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
What To Check After Fixing 05840 Code
- Inspect all the connections engine coolant temperature signal, short to ground
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
