When you open cam shaft position sensor (g40), no signal causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system intake flap motor 2 (v275), open or short to ground you can see the reductant injection air pump control, circuit / open is the final reason of the code. |
05731 Possible Causes:
05731 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 05731 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor signal bank 2 sensor 2, biased / stuck rich
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
