The problem is about exhaust bank 4, sensor 2, tension too small retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start actuator supply voltage "b", circuit high or change linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / common ground wire, open circuit is the final reason of the code. |
05517 Possible Causes:
05517 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 05517 Code
- Inspect all the connections diesel particulate filter differential pressure too high bank 2
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
