05500 Description And Summary : |

Staring in engine please check dtc memory of engine ecu the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles fuel pump circuit, electrical malfunction or change mass-airflow sensor 4 (g457), signal to low is the final reason of the code. |
05500 Possible Causes:
05500 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 05500 Code
- Inspect all the connections accelerator position sensor 1/2 (g79) / (g185), implausible signal
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
