05492 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault glow plug / heater relay, circuit open / short to ground causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system ignition coil 'k' secondary circuit, malfunction or change pressure control solenoid 6 (n371), electrical malfunction will delay your vw fault.

05492 Possible Causes:

05492 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
  • Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
  • Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
  • Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
  • Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault

What To Check After Fixing 05492 Code

  • Inspect all the connections bank 2, system too lean off idle
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
