05404 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'f', circuit intermittent run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed internal control module, malfunction and fuel pump, short circuit is the final reason of the code. |
05404 Possible Causes:
05404 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
What To Check After Fixing 05404 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, implausible
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
