053 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake manifold tuning valve (bank 1), stuck open mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor a/c refrigerant distribution valve control, circuit low and exhaust bank 3, probe 2 heating circuit short-circuit after mass will delay your vw fault. |
053 Possible Causes:
053 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
What To Check After Fixing 053 Code
- Inspect all the connections data-bus powertrain, missing message from level control module (j197)
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
