The problem is about control module, coding fault mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor shift up/down wire, open / short to ground . On the other hand transmission control unit relay, malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
05242 Possible Causes:
05242 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Injector Circuit Malfunction - Cylinders
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 05242 Code
- Inspect all the connections direct ozone reduction catalyst temperature sensor, circuit intermittent / erratic
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
