05226 Possible Causes:
05226 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 05226 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust gas temperature sensor, bank 2 sensor 4, circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
