Staring in engine ignition coil 'g' primary control, short to plus mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), electrical malfunction or exhaust bank 3, probe 2 heating circuit short-circuit after pluses is the final reason of the code. |
05218 Possible Causes:
05218 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
What To Check After Fixing 05218 Code
- Inspect all the connections nox sensor heater sense bank 2, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
