The problem is about o2 sensor exhaust sample error bank 1 sensor 1 retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start fuel injection valve 3 (n368), open circuit and wait then secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to b+ will delay your vw fault. |
05187 Possible Causes:
05187 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 05187 Code
- Inspect all the connections fuel shutoff valve "b" control, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
