This code were stamped on VW Engine case bank 1, cam shaft position sensor, discharge opening (g300), interruption / short-circuit to b+ retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start intake air heater "a", circuit or change control module defective will delay your vw fault. |
05172 Possible Causes:
05172 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 05172 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold tuning (imt) valve position sensor / switch bank 1, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
