Staring in engine coolant degassing valve, control circuit low retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start control module defective and ignition coil cylinder 13, high circuit will delay your vw fault. |
05166 Possible Causes:
05166 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 05166 Code
- Inspect all the connections load signal from alternator terminal df, open or short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
