This code were stamped on VW Engine case accelerator position sensor 2 (g185), signal too high It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 4 / common ground wire, open circuit or throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'f', circuit is the final reason of the code. |
05042 Possible Causes:
05042 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 05042 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor signal bank 1 sensor 1, biased / stuck lean
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
