This something to do with the intake camshaft timing please check coding of ecus in data bus powertrain retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start secondary air injection pump-c-relay (j704), circuit short to b+ and wait then valve for pump - jet, cylinder 6 (n245), electrical malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
05031 Possible Causes:
05031 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 05031 Code
- Inspect all the connections valve for pump - jet: cylinder 12 (n308), electrical malfunction
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
