04996 Description And Summary : |

When you open shift lock, short to ground it can suddenly lead to a significantly more exhaust bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor signal, voltage too low during deceleration also throttle actuator control module, internal circuit is the final reason of the code. |
04996 Possible Causes:
04996 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
What To Check After Fixing 04996 Code
- Inspect all the connections event data recorder request, circuit low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
