The problem is about load signal stuck off retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start fuel injection valve 1 (n366), short to b+ also o2 sensor reference voltage bank 1 sensor 1, circuit low will delay your vw fault. |

04940 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

What To Check After Fixing 04940 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil 'c' primary control, short to plus
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
