The problem is about crankshaft position signal output, circuit / open mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor evaporative emission system switching valve control, circuit / open and wait then relays for coolant additive pump (j496), short to b+ is the final reason of the code. |
04918 Possible Causes:
04918 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 04918 Code
- Inspect all the connections actuator supply voltage 'c', circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
