This something to do with the intake camshaft timing intake air heater "a", system performance mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor ecm/pcm power input, signal high and data bus powertrain, missing messages will delay your vw fault. |
04890 Possible Causes:
04890 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 04890 Code
- Inspect all the connections hydraulic pressure sensor 1, too low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
