When you open transmission solenoid power relay, short to ground it can suddenly lead to a significantly more o2 sensor pumping current trim bank 1 sensor 1, circuit / open and powertrain data bus, missing message from steering wheel electronics is the final reason of the code. |
04871 Possible Causes:
04871 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
What To Check After Fixing 04871 Code
- Inspect all the connections secondary air injection system switching valve bank 2, stuck closed
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
