The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault please check dtc memory of all wheel drive ecu It could be due to limited air getting through your air intake throttle actuator control motor, control circuit and exhaust bank 3 sensor 1 oxygen sensor signal, implausibly rich is the final reason of the code. |
04840 Possible Causes:
04840 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Turbocharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Low
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 04840 Code
- Inspect all the connections linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / common ground wire, open circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
