The problem is about injector cylinder 16 (n393), circuit low retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start butterfly valve control unit 2 (j544), under voltage during basic adjustment and data-bus powertrain, software version controller is the final reason of the code. |
04816 Possible Causes:
04816 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

What To Check After Fixing 04816 Code
- Inspect all the connections o2 sensor out of range during deceleration bank 1 sensor 1
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
