04766 Description And Summary :

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault engine torque reduction, fault causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system throttle/pedal position sensor 'b', minimum stop performance and throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'a' / 'c', voltage correlation will delay your vw fault.

04766 Possible Causes:

04766 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:

  • Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
  • Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
  • Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
  • Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction

What To Check After Fixing 04766 Code

  • Inspect all the connections outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), open to b+
  • Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
  • Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
