The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault coolant circulation pump relay (j151), short to ground run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed outside temperature sensor 2 (g249), short to ground or change cylinder 8 injector, data incompatible is the final reason of the code. |
04697 Possible Causes:
04697 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault

What To Check After Fixing 04697 Code
- Inspect all the connections activation starter relay 2, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
