Staring in engine fuel fired heater, performance mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor control of valves pump / nozzle, short-circuit after pluses or change relays for pump, fuel cooling (j445), short-circuit after pluses will delay your vw fault. |
04686 Possible Causes:
04686 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High

What To Check After Fixing 04686 Code
- Inspect all the connections data bus powertrain, implausible message of the steering wheel electrics
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
