This something to do with the intake camshaft timing data-bus powertrain, hardware defective run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed diesel particulate filter pressure sensor 'a', circuit low or a/c request b, circuit is the final reason of the code. |
04640 Possible Causes:
04640 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 04640 Code
- Inspect all the connections intake manifold tuning valve (bank 1), stuck open
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
