04401 Possible Causes:
04401 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 04401 Code
- Inspect all the connections supply voltage for fuel injector group a, short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
