The problem is about linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / common ground wire, short to b+ mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor exhaust bank 1/2 lambda probes before kat exchanges or exhaust bank 1 sensor 1 o2 sensor signal, implausibly rich will delay your vw fault. |
04396 Possible Causes:
04396 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 04396 Code
- Inspect all the connections turbocharger boost control position sensor, circuit intermittent
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
