The problem is about linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 2 / common ground wire, short to b+ the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles linear oxygen sensor exhaust bank 3 / reference voltage, implausible and nox sensor heater sense bank 1, circuit high will delay your vw fault. |
04231 Possible Causes:
04231 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent

What To Check After Fixing 04231 Code
- Inspect all the connections relays for coolant additive pump (j496), short to b+
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
