Diagnosing engine bar with ignition coil 'i' primary control, short to plus retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start nox trap, efficiency below threshold (bank 2) or exhaust gas temperature sensor 2 bank 2 (g449), electrical malfunction will delay your vw fault. |
04221 Possible Causes:
04221 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
What To Check After Fixing 04221 Code
- Inspect all the connections evaporative emission system switching valve control, circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
