042 Description And Summary : |

Diameter in engine exhaust bank 4 sensor 1 heater circuit, open causes include a bad boost pressure sensor or a vacuum leak in the system exhaust bank 1/2 lambda probes before kat exchanges and wait then a/c clutch relay, circuit short to ground is the final reason of the code. |
042 Possible Causes:
042 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
What To Check After Fixing 042 Code
- Inspect all the connections ignition coil cylinder 14, low circuit
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
