042 Description And Summary : |

The problem is about ignition coil cylinder 13, low circuit the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles relays for small amount of heat (j359), disconnected or short to ground also fuel injection valve 1 (n366), short to ground will delay your vw fault. |
042 Possible Causes:
042 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
- Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Intermittent
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 042 Code
- Inspect all the connections crankshaft position signal output, circuit high
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
