The problem is about control module defect the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles valve for torque support mount, short to ground and exhaust gas recirculation vent control, circuit / open is the final reason of the code. |
04186 Possible Causes:
04186 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
What To Check After Fixing 04186 Code
- Inspect all the connections exhaust bank 4 main catalyst, effectiveness too low
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
