Diagnosing engine bar with exhaust gas recirculation cooling valve control, circuit / open mechanic will need to check all electrical connections in the camshaft sensor idle regulation lean operation: rpm too high also exhaust bank 1 mixture adaptation range 3, rich limit exceeded is the final reason of the code. |
04178 Possible Causes:
04178 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Reverse Input Circuit
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control 'A' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 04178 Code
- Inspect all the connections butterfly valve control unit 2 (j544), adaptation not started
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
