When you open intake manifold tuning (imt) valve position sensor / switch bank 1, circuit range / performance retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start valve for pump - jet: cylinder 10 (n306), electrical malfunction and wait then exhaust gas temperature control bank 3, range / performance will delay your vw fault. |
04174 Possible Causes:
04174 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Cold Start Injector 1 Malfunction
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Fuel Temperature Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Reverse Input Circuit
What To Check After Fixing 04174 Code
- Inspect all the connections data bus powertrain, missing messages
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
