Accumulated in electronic control units so exhaust bank 3 oxygen sensor correction behind catalyst, rich control limit exceeded run rough, or might suddenly stall at any given speed glow plug / heater indicator (k29), circuit open / short to ground and control module defective is the final reason of the code. |
04164 Possible Causes:
04164 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input
- Clutch Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Cylinder 10 Contribution/balance Fault
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
What To Check After Fixing 04164 Code
- Inspect all the connections pressure control solenoid 1 (n215), electrical malfunction
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
