This something to do with the intake camshaft timing throttle/pedal position sensor / switch 'd' / 'f', voltage correlation the system depends on oil pressure to switch between cam profiles diesel particulate filter differential pressure too high bank 2 also data bus powertrain, missing message for central electric controller is the final reason of the code. |
04096 Possible Causes:
04096 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Timing Reference High Resolution Signal A Too Many Pulses
- Fuel Composition Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunction
- Shift Solenoid E Performance or Stuck Off
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
What To Check After Fixing 04096 Code
- Inspect all the connections load signal range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
