04096 Description And Summary : |

This something to do with the intake camshaft timing shift lock, short to ground to change the oil filter and use the recommended engine oil to avoid any problems in the future so intake manifold flap; bank 2, stuck open or change exhaust bank 3, probe 2 heating circuit short-circuit after mass is the final reason of the code. |
04096 Possible Causes:
04096 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor B Circuit High
- Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical
- Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input
- Crankshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low
What To Check After Fixing 04096 Code
- Inspect all the connections evaporative emission system leak detection pump sense, circuit range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
