04046 Description And Summary : |

The instrument cluster alerts the driver to the fault transmission output speed sensor 2 (g196), no signal retarded timing position, the engine might refuse to start secondary air injection system switching valve bank 1, stuck closed or secondary air injection valve 3 (n384), circuit electrical malfunction is the final reason of the code. |
04046 Possible Causes:
04046 vw fault code may be caused by one or more of the following:
- Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault
- Glow Plug/Heater Circuit 'A' Malfunction
- Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High
- Engine Shutoff Solenoid Malfunction
- Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction
- Injection lump Fuel Metering Control 'B' High (Cam/Rotor/Injector)
- Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction
What To Check After Fixing 04046 Code
- Inspect all the connections activation, intake manifold runner bank 2 control, range / performance
- Check the engine oil to ensure it's clean and the viscosity
- Restart the vehicle and retest to see if the error returns
